Best Optical Illusion

I think this is my best optical illusion shot because of  the how the shot was actually rotated after it was taken, making it look like she is climbing up a ladder. I positioned my friend lying on the floor by one of the rails on the stairs and had her lift herself up right before I took the shot. The only problem I had with this one was lighting, because I was shooting near a window, and I had to change my lighting settings accordingly.

Best Texture

This photo is of the window in the downstairs bathroom. I personally think this is the best photo out of the series, because of the gradient colour and pattern. A problem I had with this shot was that most of them turned out blurry, because of the angle and the height that this photo was taken. I had to stand on my toes, and many times I lost my balance as I hit the shutter. After many tries, I finally got this one. This photo represents texture, as well as pattern, where texture is the bubbles encased in the glass, and pattern is the gradiancy of the colour in these bubbles.

Best Simple Object

This photo shows my object with a background full of lights. I think this photo is the best out of this series because of the use of unity and harmony, as well as the lights reflecting off the object. Some problems I ran into were shutter speed and aperture settings. Because I was shooting into light, I had to change those settings quite a bit before finally getting a good shot. With the light strands at the back all going the same way, the picture contains both unity and harmony, and keeps the picture pleasing to the eye.

Journal #2: Colour Pop

"Fun With Pointe Shoes"

I wasn't sure how many photos were required, so I did three:

1)

I like the angle of this one, not so much the colour composition that's supposed to make it "pop." Probably my least favourite of the three.

2)

I love the symmetry that goes into this, as well as the colour, definitely a close second favourite.

3)

And last but not least (definitely not least), my favourite. I love how the background is completely black, and you can barely see my legs because of the black tights, and that makes the colour of my pointe shoes pop.

I'M BAAAAACK! (Sort of...)

Sooooooooo considering I don't have photography this semester...I haven't been taking pictures that much anymore, and also considering our new teacher doesn't use the blogs (I checked my friend's and he hasn't updated since the ISU last year), I decided I would check out my old teacher's blog here, and do some of the journals/assignments in my spare time. I will be, like last time, posting them on here.
So hi, Ms. Turcotte, I hope you see this! :)
